The ECE Department at Lafayette College announces a search for two tenure-track faculty positions at the assistant professor level starting in the 2024-2025 academic year. Applications will be reviewed beginning in July 2023 and continuing in 2023-2024 until the positions are filled.
For this position, the department is primarily seeking candidates with a passion for undergraduate teaching and mentoring and the ability to teach core electrical/computer engineering courses in digital design and embedded systems and having experience with FPGAs, microcontrollers, computer architecture, and chip design. The department is interested in candidates with the potential to teach electives in computer engineering, VLSI, Artificial Intelligence, or Internet of Things, etc. Candidates must demonstrate the potential to establish a research program that engages undergraduate students and results in the publication of scholarly work in peer-reviewed venues.

The department is interested in candidates with experience in interdisciplinary areas of robotics, embedded systems, autonomous systems, artificial intelligence, and internet of things to help support our new inter-disciplinary B.S. engineering program (https://inte.lafayette.edu) in addition to the ECE program. Candidates must demonstrate the potential to establish a research program that engages undergraduate students and results in the publication of scholarly work in peer-reviewed venues.
The new interdisciplinary B.S. engineering program was offered for the first time in the fall of 2019. The program’s courses have focus areas in robotics, bioengineering, as well as environment and energy that are taught with a systems approach and are supported in part by Electrical and Computer Engineering faculty.
