Lafayette offers a rich set of undergraduate research experiences.

Electrical and Computer Engineering major Brandon Smith ’17 conducts research on Brain-Computer Interfaces with Professor Yih-Choung Yu.

Through the EXCEL Scholars Program, and the Clare Boothe Luce Research Scholars Program, students can work collaboratively with faculty during the summer on projects that expand the boundaries of knowledge.  Recent projects in the ECE department include designing a brain-computer interface for wheelchair navigation, exploring new ways to speed up computing, and designing a low-cost aviation radar, and building a set of swarming robots.

Senior students desiring to engage in a year-long research project that synthesizes their four years of knowledge may apply to pursue an Honors Thesis.
